Unlock your phone, hold it near the terminal then look for the check mark to confirm payment is complete.

With your watch:
Double-click the crown button on your watch, twist your wrist, and hold your watch face near the terminal until you hear a sound or feel vibration

Online and in apps:
At checkout, tap the Google Pay button, enter your shipping address then confirm your order.

Google Pay is a secure and fast way to make contactless payments using your Android smartphone or compatible wearable. It allows you to store your Sohar International cards digitally and pay at stores, online, and within apps.

You can add your Sohar international Debit, Credit & Prepaid cards to Google Pay.

  • You can add your Sohar International cards in Google Pay via our Mobile Banking App. Refer to the following steps.
    Log into Sohar International Mobile Banking App. Download the Mobile Banking App & complete the registration process if not done already.
    Tap on ‘Cards’ section.
  • Tap on ‘Add to Google Pay’ icon below the card which is to be enabled for Google Pay.
  • Complete the verification process via SMS/Email OTP or call.
  • Once verified, you are ready to use Google Pay.
  • Corporate Card holders can add the card directly in the Google Wallet app. Refer to the following steps:
    Download the Google Wallet app from the Google Play Store (if not pre-installed).
  • Open the app and sign in with your Google account.
  • Tap "Add to Wallet" and scan or manually enter your corporate card details.
  • Complete the verification process via SMS/Email OTP or call.
  • Once verified, you are ready to use Google Pay.

Google Pay works on Android devices running Android 9.0 or higher, with NFC capability. It also works on select Wear OS smartwatches.

  • You can use Google Pay:
    At any contactless POS terminal displaying the Google Pay or contactless symbol in Oman and globally
  • On websites and apps that support Google Pay as a checkout option

Yes. Google Pay uses tokenization, which replaces your actual card number with a virtual number. Your real card details are never shared with merchants. In addition, payments require screen lock authentication (fingerprint, face ID, or passcode).

No. Sohar International does not charge any fees for using Google Pay. However, standard card usage fees and mobile data charges may apply.

Yes, you can use Google Pay internationally at any merchant that accepts contactless payments.

  • Open the Google Wallet app.
  • Select the card you want to remove.
  • Tap on the three-dot menu > “Remove payment method”
  • You can also manage cards from your Google account settings.

  • If your phone is lost or stolen:
    Use Find My Device/Find Hub (by Google) to lock or erase your phone.
  • Alternatively, contact Sohar International’s customer service to temporarily block the card from mobile wallets.

Yes, you can add the same card to multiple devices. Each device will have a different virtual account number for added security.

If your Sohar International card is reissued, it will need to be re-added to Google Pay. Please remove the old card and follow the steps to add the new card.
